We are powering the ethical supply chain and setting a new industry standard.
The current sourcing and manufacturing model isn’t sustainable for people or the planet. With authenticity and transparency driving consumer expectations, the traditional supply chain model is no longer viable.
At TO THE MARKET creating, measuring and reporting on impact are at the heart of who we are and what we do. From onboarding our makers to production to shipping and throughout our communications we aim to do better for people and the planet.
T.R.A.C.E VETTING SYSTEM
T.R.A.C.E stands for Transparent, Responsible, Authentic, Conscious, and Ethical. We use this system to ensure that all suppliers in our network are value-aligned. The T.R.A.C.E. vetting system represents the foundation of data used in our Vendor Scorecard. The data collected also helps TTM to measure and report on the impact of transactions through our supply chain.
The T.R.A.C.E. system has nine core focus areas: Contact Information, General Information, Certifications and Audits, Employee Demographics, Employee Policies, Operational Policies, Environmental Policies, Commitment to TO THE MARKET Guiding Principles, and Professional references.
We believe better supply chains are built on a foundation of ethical work and sustainability. From small artisan groups to large factories, each of our suppliers are approved with our T.R.A.C.E vetting process, a multi-modal assessment across social, environmental, and operational practices designed to evaluate a diverse set of makers across different scales and geographic locations. In short, we screen for a suppliers that are aligned on our mission for business that's better for people and the planet.
TO THE MARKET is proud to be a Certified B Corporation. As part of the B Corp community, we've proven our devotion to working toward reduced inequality, lower levels of poverty, a healthier environment, stronger communities, and the creation of high-quality jobs with dignity and purpose, all of which is closely aligned with our vision of doing business that is better for people and better for the planet. This status is highly selective, as it is one of the only certifications that is not for a product or service, but for the whole business behind the product or service, which helps consumers identify companies with a genuine mission.
TO THE MARKET is proud to be certified as a Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) through the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), the largest third party certifier of businesses owned and operated by women in the US. With only a small percentage of contracts going to women-owned businesses, we are proud to add value to our clients through our ethical and sustainability supply chain.
In early 2023, TO THE MARKET became Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certified! This means we are now able to offer our clients GOTS certified materials in production and include the GOTS logo on some product labeling and packaging. The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is the worldwide leading textile processing standard for organic fibers. The standard has a clearly defined set of criteria, which includes both ecological and social criteria. Key provisions include a ban on the use of GMO's, highly hazardous chemicals (such as azo dyes and formaldehyde), and child labor while requiring strong social compliance management systems and strict waste water treatment practices.
