We're introducing members of the TO THE MARKET team in our Q&A series. Today, meet David, a member of our Sales Team and TTM's resident home products pro.
Name: David Adatto
Where You’re From: I always find this an interesting question because many people answer by saying where they are currently living as opposed to the city they are originally from. Well, I am originally from East New York, aka Brooklyn, and spent a majority of the time in NY on Long Island, in a town called Wantagh.
Where You Call Home Today: For the past 23 years I have lived in Scottsdale, Arizona. Yes, it's very hot in the summer, however there is no humidity and no snow in the winter.
How do you practice sustainability in your everyday life?
Since we moved to Scottsdale, we've had to separate recyclables, and from then it grew. We use reusable water bottles, I use bamboo straws, and my wife uses metal straws. Our friend also developed reusable paper-like towels that are in a roll, called Rakot75. One roll can take the place of over 100 paper towel rolls, and we use those as well.
What excites you most about your career?
I was lucky and grateful to find and work with To The Market because it gives me the ability to be creative, work with buyers to help them be successful, and at the same time we are creating jobs for those in need. What can be more exciting than doing what you love and helping others at the same time.
Who is your biggest inspiration and why?
It might sound like a cliché, but my Dad was my biggest inspiration. My values are all accredited to him. He helped me develop my work ethic, and made people around him feel good about themselves. Through my Dad's actions, I learned that taking care of his family was his #1 priority, and he never thought of himself.
Pick a song to describe yourself and explain why you chose it.
I have always been a Neil Diamond fan, and his song "America" has always touched me, because it reminds me of my 4 grandparents who were immigrants and came to the USA on their own in their teens. There is also a fun memory that I have from a vacation at Club Med years ago: I was selected to close the main GM show by lip-synching to "America," which brought the house down.
