Happy World Day for Cultural Diversity

May 21, 2021

A group of our Kenyan artisans on the left,

Today is World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development! That’s a long title but it all adds up to one thing: honoring cultural diversity makes for a more fulfilling, joyful, enriching, and economically successful world.

According to the United Nations, 3/4 of the world’s major conflicts involve a cultural dimension. So it’s no surprise that the organization considers bridging the gap between cultures “urgent and necessary” - and so do we. Working with suppliers from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds, walks of life, and parts of the world is a priority to us. Few things are more valuable than getting to know and empathize with the experiences of others. At the end of the day, humans are a lot more alike than we are different, and if we choose to celebrate and learn from the differences that DO exist, we can build a world where empathy and inclusion is the greater standard.

We all are sharing this same planet together. So let’s make it a place that honors ALL of our values and viewpoints.
