TTM Team Q&A: James Beggan

December 23, 2020

We're introducing members of the TO THE MARKET team in our Q&A series. Today, we're getting to know James Beggan, a talented member of our design team!

Name: James Beggan

Where You’re From: Nantasket Beach, MA

Where You’re Quarantining: Brooklyn, NY

How do you practice sustainability in your everyday life?

I try to infuse sustainable practices into what I do on the daily whenever I can. Reusing and recycling as much as possible but most importantly, making good choices and shopping organic, local, and natural. No one is perfect and that's the most important thing to remember! One good choice is a heck of a lot better than zero and we go and grow from there.

What excites you most about your career?

As someone who has dedicated my life to creating things that people can actually use and want, Jane put it best -- I am so excited to be able to create in a sustainable and ethical way so we can all buy the change we want to see.

Who is your biggest inspiration and why?

AOC (Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez) she is the youngest woman to ever serve in the US congress. She advocates for what is right and fights like hell for the people. But honestly, when you break it down, any badass woman who fights for what she believes in inspires me like no other.

Pick a song to describe yourself and explain why you chose it.

This one is HARD, I'm a music person. But, if I have to choose just one I'm going to defer to my iTunes most played song which is "Into the Limelight" (feat. Danyka Nadeau) by Trivecta. It's all about overcoming challenges to bring about a brighter day. Who doesn't want good vibes and (a lot of) hard work for what we believe in, right?!
