Happy Mother’s Day, From TTM to You

May 09, 2021

This Mother’s Day, the TTM team is excited to honor all of the wonderful parental figures in our lives. Motherhood can take many shapes and forms in life, and it’s not always in the ways we expect. Parental love can come from moms, but it can also come from aunts, sisters, grandparents, community leaders, dads, cousins, and so many others.

As we take time this Mother’s Day to honor the parental figures who mean the most to us, we’re reminded of why we do what we do here at TTM. Providing moms with the agency and care to dictate the course of their own lives - and their children’s lives - means providing access to means of freedom. That means safe workspaces, where they are paid fairly and treated with respect. It means healthcare for moms and their children, especially maternity care so they can bring their kids into the world as safely as possible.

While no one person can transform the entire planet overnight, we can all take small steps to make our world safer, happier, and more equitable for all parents. That’s why today we’d like to share some of our favorite brands and products for making the world a better place with our purchasing power. With gifts made sustainably and with portions of proceeds directed towards great causes, these are gifts the parental figures in your life will enjoy all season long - today and every day.

Ceramic Teapot

Ethically sourced by TTM, made with love, and sold at Bloomingdale’s, this gorgeous ceramic teapot will bring joy to anyone who loves to host in their kitchen.

19th Amendment Anniversary Silk Scarf

A wearable celebration of women’s rights! This luxe silk scarf was ethically made in India, in a women-owned and operated factory. The scarf honors the 100-year anniversary of the passing of the 19th Amendment. For every purchase, $15 is donated to THE 19th*.

Eu’Genia Shea

We have loved working with Eu’Genia Shea over the years, a mother-daughter maker team who ethically source shea butter in northern Ghana for the most soothing possibilities. We love Eu’Genia’s shea butter bundles as gifts for the moms in our lives.

Every Mother Counts

Every Mother Counts works to ensure that moms all over the world have the opportunity and access to a safe pregnancy and childbirth. And they’ve collaborated with an abundance of fantastic brands to raise money for the cause. One of our favorites is EMC’s collab with John Hardy, who donates 20% of the purchase price from its Birthstones Collection to the organization.

Ethical Coffee

As our founder, Jane Mosbacher Morris, mentions in her book, coffee is such an easy way to make a difference with your dollars. Ethically produced coffee made with a transparent supply chain is better for both the people making it and the environment. If the parents in your life are coffee lovers, nothing hits better than a gifted supply of delicious ethically sourced java. One of our favorite brands? The legendary Porto Rico Importing Co.

Lemon Apron

As you may know, TTM is all about the lemon print these days. This 100% cotton apron was sourced by TTM and ethically made in Bangladesh. With a spacious pocket to hold kitchen gadgets and adjustable straps for a custom fit, this apron is the perfect cheerful addition for any mother figure who loves to make magic in the kitchen.
